Review of Something Borrowed (2011) by Tiffany D — 30 Dec 2012
Rom com chick flicks are often some of the most cheestastically-bad movies out there (27 Dresses, Bride Wars, P.S. I Love You, etc): poorly written, overacted dreck. That reality, compounded with the whole cheating premise, had me avoiding this one like nobody's business.
Turns out, it was watchable (classic? no. on the better side of the genre? yes.) Ginnifer Goodwin is likable enough to make this one work; Kate Hudson was well-suited as the self-centered BFF -- and the guys were great eye candy.
Is it deep? no. Predictable? yes... but there are worse ways to spend a couple hours (i.e. 27 Dresses, Bride Wars, P.S. I Love You, etc). 3-ish+ stars.
