Review of Somersault (2004) by Adryan G — 07 Feb 2009
About 2/3s in, I got the feeling that this film was a collection of moments that Shortland wanted to film, with the story only attached as an afterthought. I love that the main character is seemingly devoid of any redeeming value and yet we force ourselves to be fascinated with her.
It's a wonder any of us survive that moment of adolescence when we realize our sexualities are valuable enough to barter with.
