Review of Somersault (2004) by Will B — 07 Nov 2005
This film came highly recomended in this semester's film society magazine and has apparently swept the board with Australian film awards. In my opinion the film was Ok, but nothing more than that.
It centred on a schoolgirl who ran away from home after a "romantic altercation" with her mums boyfriend, and ended up in a remote Austrialian tourist resort, using her looks to get herself a flat and job. Numerous sexual altercations follow, along with some weird bits.
"There were too many breasts" was how a female friend described it, and I have to admit they did pop out of many occasions (altho' it was the same pair!)!!!
