Review of Somers Town (2008) by Scott G — 22 Aug 2008
Shane Meadows is nothing sort of fantastic and his character dissemination has the power and accuracy of Mike Leigh (albeit on uppers) although this slight story meanders a little through its brief running time.
The cast are excellent and the B&W photography gorgeous. The score is spare but absolutely right. Although the film's certainly entertaining and the relationships and characters are drawn well, this couldn't help feeling a little slight.
