Review of Somers Town (2008) by Jeremy P — 01 Feb 2009
Notwithstanding the film's origins as a promo for Eurostar, as Meadows himself says on the DVD, this film changed into something quite special. A very witty script, with some excellent characters and a beautifully captured sense of place.
It has a very Sixties feel about it. Quite a life-affirming little film which, like life, comes to no simplistic closures or happy endings. Just the sense of an accidental friendship that could go on forever.
