Review of Somers Town (2008) by Jason M — 06 Apr 2009
Shane Meadows is the best british film maker of today, this nice sweet little film is probably his most simple of all his films for it is about 2 boys from completely different backgrounds embark on a unique friendship and both are infatuated with a French waitress. That is it for there is no deep message on racism, no violent vengeful acts just a simple idea that works.
It kind of reminded me of Milos Forman's early works as well as the kitchen sink era.
Looking forward to see Meadows future projects.
