Review of Someone's Knocking at the Door (2009) by Sumant S — 17 Oct 2010
2009 US Director: Chad Ferrin.
Score: 4.
So...uh...yeah. Even if the rest of the movie had a cohesive plot, and more than average elements to it, the ridiculous Deus ex Machina ending would have blown it. Seriously though? It doesn't even have the other average elements. The soundtrack is the only thing that I would call average, and that only barely makes the mark. The plot is laughably ridiculous. It tries to be a supernatural shock-thriller but any small amount of mystery and "supernatural element" that it does achieve is totally dashed at the end when they hit us with the "it was all in his mind" ending. Blah. The effects are not horrible but they are still below the average mark. The acting is pretty cheesy. I have to say though, with a plot about a pair of psycho killers that go around raping people to death with apparent supernaturally powered sexual organs, the actors didn't have much to work with. It just, in my opinion, was a waste of time and the ending added insult to the injury that you wasted the time it took watching this thing to its conclusion. Oh well.
