Review of Someone Else's Happiness (2005) by Sukaran S — 05 Mar 2009
Very impressive. indeed a compelling story with truly original characters. the directing is amazing in this film, the lack of close ups, and many long takes do make this whole experience kinda sensual.
even personal. and all the stories, I mean, so simple but yet so strangely interesting. small town. a bunch of weirdo's. an accident. lots of silences and silent looks. it's even funny. very sad and touching.
plus I was completely surpriseded by how it all ended. art house style! belgiums do make some great cinema.
