Review of Some Like It Hot (1959) by Kaloki M — 12 Feb 2011
A true classic by any definition. This is one of the best films of its age that never looks dated. Curtis and Lemmon are awesome as the two hapless band members forced to pretend they are female blonds to escape the mob. Marilyn Monroe plays the wide eyed innocent to perfection and managed t oooze sex apeal without taking he clothes off - modern directors should really look into this 'less is more' idea sometime.
Often overlooked, the suporting cast is also brilliant with everyone playing to their full potential in a story that is actually preety believeable in its own way.
A great Saturday afternoon movie with one of my favourite last lines ever 'well, nobody's perfect!'.
