Review of Some Like It Hot (1959) by Cara B — 23 Jun 2011
This movie is extremely hilarious, but it's completely unbelievable that anyone would think, even for a moment, that Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are women. This can be considered a not-so-subtle portrayal of transvestite fetishism that made it through censors at the time because of its goofiness and the plot that "makes" the men pretend to be women.
My description may sound negative, but I have a very positive view of this movie. I recommend it, especially for fans of old movies. Marilyn Monroe is at her sexiest and silliest.
