Review of Some Like It Hot (1959) by Kinch K — 06 May 2012
Enjoyable farce, but not up to the standard of Wilder's best films, like Sunset Boulevard or Ace in the Hole. It had me up to and throughout the train scenes, but once the band arrived at their hotel, the film loses its edge a bit.
Problems with pacing, plot, and Tony Curtis' distractingly terrible fake British accent all made the last 3rd of the film drag a bit for me. Still, overall very funny, and Marilyn Monroe was a babe - unoriginal observation, but true.
