Every bit the classic it is made out to be. Very funny, with a good plot, superb directing and some great performances.
Written and directed by the legendary Billy Wilder, the movie just rolls along. The jokes aren't laugh-a-minute, so their effect isn't diluted.
Jack Lemmon deserved his Best Actor Oscar nomination, but Tony Curis matches him step-for-step. Marilyn Monroe provides the eye candy (and what candy it is!) and the singing, but not much else.
A must-see.
