Review of Some Like It Hot (1939) by James-Masaki R — 01 Oct 2012
Another masterpiece directed by Billy Wilder, "Some Like It Hot" still stands as one of the funniest movies ever made, and at the time one of the more controversial. Crossdressing and sexual innuendos galore just raises flags for those picky church groups, along with Marilyn Monroe's sultriness sexing up the movie frame.
With 2 out-of-work musicians on the run from the mob, who dress up as ladies in an all-ladies jazz band escape to a resort where guess what? The mob attends. And it also includes one of the best final lines in movie history.
Thanks Wilder. You did the comedy as great as the gritty.
