An incredibly violent, exceptionally trashy slice of swords, sandals, wizards and witchery. Bassett's script is knowingly unconvincing and riddled with gaping, bloody holes, however, Purefoy is always game for the material and apart from a terrible CGI showdown with a sort of fiery demonic statue, this is pretty entertaining stuff.
