Review of Solomon Kane (2009) by Zachary G — 29 Aug 2010
God asks two brothers for a sacrifice. Abel, a farmer, sacrificed his crops while Kane sacrificed his brother, Abel. Kane was then forever cursed to walk the lands with death and destruction following him until he is killed in a violent death.
The movie changes the books story but Kane still kills his brother and picks up as Kane is trying to repent for his lifetime of sins against the threat of violence at every corner. The storyline is about Kane struggling to rescue a young woman in hopes of rescuing his own soul, all the while fighting his own inner demons.
