Review of Solomon Kane (2009) by Stanley C — 09 Nov 2010
Solomon Kane is one of the best fantasy movies ever made! Simply put! One of Robet E. Howard's greatest creations (the creator of Conan the Barbarian), Solomon Kane is the story of the 17th Century Puritan who tries to fight evil in the world, while at the same time, avoid the Devil who has claimed his soul.
A lifetime of killing has condemned him, so he becomes a man of peace, only to once again pick up his weapons and kill again, only this time, to fight evil. The movie is dark, gritty, somber, and full of intense action as Solomon Kane hacks and slashes his way through hordes of enemies.
Not only is the cinematography excellent, the musical score of Klaus Badelt adds texture to the character's tortured soul and brings the action to life. If only other fantasy films were like this.
.. Solomon Kane is a must-see, but sadly, it was never released in the US, so you'll either have to download it or buy the UK-version online at Amazon. Robert E. Howard's vengeful Puritan comes to blazing life on the big screen in this awesome film adaptation!
