As a Robert E. Howard fan since my early years, I had been very skeptical since the beginning. However, a strong lead performance from James Purefoy (backed by Max von Sydow, of all people) and some truly visceral action sequences make Solomon Kane a welcome addition to the bleak droll of action/fantasy.
