Review of Solomon Kane (2009) by Andrew C — 31 Mar 2011
Sadly a bit too slow-paced - especially in the middle - to rush past its shortcomings, Solomon Kane nevertheless manages a grimy and muddy world that straddles medievalism and fantasy enough to be enjoyed on its own unambitious level.
It's well-played and beautifully shot, though the wonderful lava demon at the finale is criminally underused to the point of anticlimax.
