Based on the pulp stories of Robert Howard, creator of Conan, this is a sword and sorcery adventure about a puritan in Elizabethan England who has a sword and isn't afraid to use it. Strangely, this movie never got an American release, not even on DVD.
If you're a fan of the genre, it's worth seeking out. Much better than a lot of other fantasy adventures that do get American releases (Dungeons & Drangons, anyone?).
