Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Avery S — 30 May 2018
If you don't see this film on the big screen cause you're some kind of Star Wars snob like me, then you're an idiot! I went into see this with low expectations and came out wanting to see it again right away. If you want to put it in an order of best Star Wars films, it would be in the top 5. For me it would be: 1) A New Hope, 2) Empire Strikes Back, 3) Rogue One 4) Force Awakens and 5) SOLO!
Some may agree with my list, some might think I'm nuts -- but those films all capture the true spirit of what Star Wars is supposed to be about -- fun in a space movie with a little story to go for the ride, but the story isn't little, not even in SOLO -- Star Wars is BIG and it's OPERATIC and it's fun all at the same time. So don't miss seeing this movie in a theatre --- cause when you see it on Netflix or Blue Ray or whatever -- you're going to kick yourself that you didn't see it on a HUGE screen with a bunchload of speakers. I'm seeing it again Sunday and probably Tuesday -- that's how much I liked it. Erehnreich isn't Ford's Han Solo, but he reminds you of him - he has the spirit of the character, and that was good enough for me.
