Review of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) by Karen C — 03 Jun 2018
Solo has the joyful yet gritty heart of a true Star Wars movie. The chance to see how Han started down the path to becoming the Han Solo is a like a present to all true Star Wars. There are some flaws- particulary a muddy, foggy color palette and lighting that sometime obscure the action.
The acting is solid all around. Some very engaging new characters make and appearance and a cameo by a fan favorite at the end generated a lot of excitment when I saw it. The action was well paced and a high percentage of the jokes landed and got laughs in the crowded theatre I saw Solo in.
Has the atmosphere of a western in space and that works with the characters. An engaging movie that I have already seen twice and will likely see at least once more on the big screen.
