Review of Solo (1996) by Tristan P — 05 Jun 2009
Oh what a little gem I have found for my first review. Mario Van Peebles is cast as an emotionless Universal Soldier Droid thingy, one of those genius bits of casting that plays to an actors talents, that gave us Keanu as a detatched from reality, socially inept Neo.
The film opens with Mario looking hard whilst we are told what a worthless p.o.s. he is. Then cut to helicopters, and then a leopard. This film captures a little bit of everything great from 80's T.
V. and film. There is a little Airwolf, Robocop, A Team, Rambo and maybe some Carry On! A perfect Saturday night in movie. I hope George caught this one.
