Review of Solitary Man (2009) by Ryan B — 22 Jul 2010
One of the best films 2010 has to offer! Brian Koppelman and David Levian's new film is a story similar to quite a few films, it bears alot of resemblance to last years "Up in the Air," but the film is just executed so well.
It is arguably Douglas's best performance. He is so despicable, when I saw an interview with Douglas talking about some of his character's actions, and a few scenes from the film, I HAD to see it.
He is just such a despicable character, yet suave and you kind of want to be him at the same time. Don't research it, just watch it, some plot outlines give away too much of the film. It's produced by Soderbergh, which isn't a surprise, seeing as he's worked with Koppelman and Levien quite a few times.
Imogen Poots is incredibly pretty! It's insane, she's just gorgeous, I felt the same way after watching 28 Weeks Later. This film has a strong supporting cast, including Susan Sarandon, Jenna Fischer, Jesse Eisenberg, Mary Loise-Parker, Danny Devito, Olivia Thirlby, Ben Shenkman, and a few other character actors.
