Review of Soldier of Orange (1977) by Isaac J — 29 Nov 2007
Great flick about the Dutch resistance during WW2. Played surprisingly straight for a Verhoeven movie. It kind of suffers from biopic syndrome with a long timeline being covered shallowly instead of a shorter, more in focused story.
However, this is a minor grip given the spectacular performances from Rutger Hauer and the rest of the cast (excepting perhaps some of the English actors).
