Review of Solaris (2002) by Kate P — 04 Apr 2008
I have read the book .... so I was very upset when I saw the movie, even if I do like Clooney. They ignored the central theme (i.e. aliens are alien, so we cannot comprehend their motives)!!!! On the other hand, making the emotions and ideas from the book relevant to a 21st century american audience is virtually impossible and it is a beautiful movie, so I guess Soderbergh did a good job.
