Review of Solaris (2002) by John S — 09 Sep 2008
A very grown up movie. It is unusual these days to find a film that doesn't treat the audience like infants; a film that isn't scared of using silence and stillness to tell a tale rather than constant motion and exposition.
In short a film that trusts in the intelligence of its viewers. Serious science fiction about god and man (amongst other things) but slow, atmospheric and deeply emotional.
