Review of Solaris (2002) by Dennis A C — 30 Jan 2014
Criminally under appreciated sci-fi film that disappoints the mass audience only because it doesn't have explosions or space battles, and features a story you have to think to follow. Where the original novel dealt with the impossibility of communication between humanity and extraterrestrial intelligence, Soderbergh's smart version deals with regret, lost love and how we are sometimes trapped in our own memories of events.
