Review of Soi Cowboy (2008) by Phil N — 21 Nov 2008
Thomas Clays chooses to paraphrase Thai avant film genius Apichatpong Weerasetakul in this slow moving essay on the tourist trade, which in Clays opinion seem to be only a continuation of Western colonization.
He uses Weerasetakuls modus operandi freely throughout: the dramatic zoom-ins, the attention to detail and the different narratives incorporated into one. Close to perfection.
