Review of Society (1990) by Tom H — 24 Dec 2007
The second-best film of all time: in parts trashy, tongue-in-cheek - and yet utterly absorbed in cynicism and paranoia, Society is a well-told tattle-tale about not fitting in with your surroundings.
Also, fundamentally, the film has perhaps the best EVER climax in any movie, the 75 minutes preceeding the final 15 are a curious misdirection. The end sequence however, is spectacularly inventive and disgusting.
Society - there's nothing quite like it. Never before, and certainly never since. We'll never see another film like this again.
