Review of Soaked in Bleach (2015) by Hayley H — 17 Jun 2015
I've always been quite undecided to be honest. The thought of someone so dear being murdered is just too much to even consider. I've felt incredibly swayed by Montage of Heck, and the few books I've read. But this film has sadly brought me to the conclusion Kurt was murdered. As a journalist myself, I know a writer has an incredible influence over it's reader if it's spun in a certain angle. Since Kurt died, the whole suicide notion has been promoted heavily. With Tom Grants superb documentary, based solely on facts and evidence, there's no other angle or ulterior motive here, but to simply make the evidence available to everyone. This case should be re examined, most definitely. I.
I remember hearing 'Come As You Are' at a party, and it was like time stood still. I'd found a music that connected with my soul, and gave me goosebumps, in a way I'd never felt before. Kurt died a few months after I found Nirvana. Sadly, as I was only a teenager myself at the time, and didn't know how to listen to Kurt's music without feeling overwhelming sadness and helplessness, I had to pack away my love for Nirvana for my own sanity. I was being prescribed diazepam and anti psychotics at the time. I was only 15 but very confused already with my own crap life without grief being thrown into the mix. Re visiting my love for Nirvana, 20 years later, I've been able to enjoy all the endless interviews and live performances available on YouTube and all the great unheard music that have been released in subsequent albums. I'm firmly back in the swing of my love for a band that defined me for such a long time.
Thanks Tom, for your dedication, hard work and love for this man. You've made us so called 'conspiracists' feel justified and proud that you've spoken for a generation of unheard empathic souls who just want the truth. God bless.
