Review of So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993) by Angela A — 13 Apr 2011

My favorite movie of all time. I still remember the night, almost 11 years ago, that some friends of mine excitedly decided to watch it. It was a favorite of theirs, even though it sounded really strange to me! I watched it with them, and I loved every bit of it. If you like Mike Myers and have an attention to the smallest humorous details in a movie, you will enjoy it. It's a movie that you have to both pay close attention to, yet not take too seriously. My good friends and I quote it all the time, and it gets better every time you watch it. Definitely has a cult following for that very reason. Oh, and the cameos are stellar. Even better, my husband and I had the good fortune to live in the Bay Area for a few months, a few years ago... I had given my copy of this movie to a friend before we moved out there, so I bought a new one in San Francisco. And now when I watch it, not only do I enjoy the movie for what it is, I also get to see beautiful glimpses of what quickly became my favorite city on earth! :).

Watch it, love it, quote the crap out of it because it's pure brilliance. Mike Myers' best movie, by far.
