Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Aurora1 — 04 Jun 2015
One of the most overrated movie ever. Boring, appealing only to those who are not familiar with other dystopic and better films. Even too easy to quote Soylent Green, Brazil (at least, in this case there is an open tribute in the name of Gilliam), The Planet of the Apes.
The idea of a train as a generation vehicle finds a better predecessor in the short story "Universe" by Robert Heinlein, where "home" was a starship. Poor script and poor acting. I just appreciated the idea of carriages as a methaphore of social classes (first class, second class.
..) and played as the next level of a videogame.
