Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Phillip D — 16 Feb 2015
Snowpiercer is marvelous and Evans is at his very best. This movie came out of the blue for me, having just seen Evans in Marvel films, I considered him a bit of a limited actor. Evans proves he has real acting chops however and delivers a stunningly dramatic, top notch, eye-catching performance in a movie that seems to deliver on all fronts.
The world creation is fascinating, offering just enough of an apocalyptic taste. The plot is utterly unique and almost steampunk in nature, offering the audience something completely new, a growing impossibility for us here in American film.
The supporting cast is shockingly good, offering in depth character development while teasing the audience throughout the length of the movie. Overall, Evans is a stunning lead and Snowpiercer is a truly fantastic foreign film that highlights the growing decline of the American film industry.
