Review of Snowpiercer (2013) by Joe N — 27 Feb 2015
I watched Snowpiercer last night and laughed so much...it's not a comedy. It's a movie about global warming and how humans tried to cool the planet and caused a global freeze which killed everyone except some humans on an "ark" train.
Of course, the classes were divided into separate cars with the good poor people in the back eating bugs and the evil rich people in the front eating steak. The train ran on a renewable energy source so it never stopped.
The poor good people tried to overthrow the rich evil people when they thought enough time had gone by that bullets were extinct. A little black boy was placed into a position of "slavery" on the train.
Towards the end of the movie, the planet showed signs of warming and showed a sole surviving polar bear. How in the hell did this movie not win an Oscar? I mean we had global warming, global cooling, class warfare, renewable energy, evil guns, racism and polar bears.
I just figured it out why they didn't win an Oscar...they forgot the homophobic angle.
