Review of Snowden (2016) by Ethan L — 07 Oct 2016
The intent behind this film is miles and miles away from your typical Hollywood film. As intriguing as they have made this historically scandalous event, its main aim, again, is far beyond visuals, style, all of that. A film that will make you question everything (if you haven't been already?) And of you have been questioning the truth, our leaders, our rights, questioning our odd fit within the greatest nation on earth.. Well, this movie will allow you to do so! I was bit perplexed had some people that I had talked to that simply thought the movie was "cool" because- Snowden wasn't trying to be cool BY ANY MEANS, but he was knowingly releasing valuable information (that is our right to know about, everyone in the world.) I want spoil the thrills this movie undergoes as you learn more about Mr. Snowden.. but I want to set this movie up for you a bit.. It's all based on true events, and extremely true facts about the lies that our government has been producing for their own advantages in a corrupt money hungry world. Would you cheat at your life, stripping the citizens around you of their rights, just to get all you desire in the world? Along with your friends? Few people are in a position to make such decisions, but the ones who are, usually have it kept very secret. This sheds light on the fact that THE LEADERS WE "VOTE" for are thoroughly dishonest, and willing to say and do anything they can to stay where they are, pull more strings, strip people if their successes, and give the upperhand to anyone who they deem worthy. Hello and welcome to the game you may now understand a bit, of which, is happening (right under your nose).
Courage.
Reformation.
Change.
Love.
Love.
Love.
Snowden had a good understand of many things, and decided to use it for the benefit of us all, instead of tinkering with it for the "secret services" or his own good. He knew it was too powerful to not share with the world, waaaay too powerful. Snowden. Superhero. Fearless. One of us. Go watch it. Think about it. Talk about it.
