Review of Snowden (2016) by Another V — 11 Nov 2016
I saw an early showing of Snowden followed by a live interview. It's well done, well acted.
Nice job Oliver Stone, Joseph Gordon-Leavitt, Shalene Woodley, and team! Though this was ultimately about Snowden and his contribution to history, I was a bit surprised to see more of Shalene's beautiful body than expected!
Snowden and Lindsey are a passionate couple.
Snowden is still relatively unknown to many Americans apparently. He is an American hero. Or villain depending on who you ask. To me, a hero!
An argument could be made that Edward Snowden had an ethical obligation to do what he did and bring these things to light. Technologies he helped create were being used to hurt and kill innocent people, to do things that are wrong. He helped create this, was a part of it, and it has been used for not just good but also evil. Others had an obligation to do the right thing too, but only Snowden stepped up and did it, sacrificing everything in the hopes that good would prevail, that Americans and others in this world would be better off in the long run. This is not over. And while Snowden's future has interestingly been protected by Putin, for now, who knows what the future holds?
I like spy movies in general. This is the real deal. Not just Snowden's spy story but his love story as well. Love it!
