Review of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938) by Matthew D — 29 Jan 2013
Movie Matt here with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Everyone should know the story so it's pointless to do a brief recap like I always do. Is it good? Yes but still has some flaws. Let's get to the flaws: My main problem was THE FREAKING PRINCE! He gets only a couple lines & then shows up again at the end to kiss Snow White, which leads to a continuity problem: How was he able to find her without a map & most importantly, where did he know where to go? My understanding why he didn't have as much development was the fact the animators were still inexperienced with sketching human characters & he had a scene to himself at one point but the movie isn't called "The Prince & The Seven Dwarfs", now, Is It? Snow White herself is kinda bland but she's still likeable.
The Seven Dwarfs are funny, mainly Dopey who takes up the comic relief role (because he can't talk). All in all, a timeless classic & still one of my favorites, 5 stars.
