Review of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1938) by Matthew F. J — 29 Jan 2015
First full feature length produced by Disney, this film is absolutely gorgeous from start to finish. The colors and technique used in this cartoon were back then absolutely unique and quite a revolution in the animated world.
The story follows the classic fairy tale from the brother's Grimm. The film has a terrific dark side and one of the most iconic witch that ever grace the screen. filled with symbols and erotic references, this film is a very great piece of cinema and an ode to a time when artists were still in charge in Hollywood instead of repeating formulas to make money.
The level of quality here is undeniable and this is why such a film is a classic.
