Review of Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) by Jesse L — 02 May 2013
A pretty good film, for me the attraction was more Charlize Theron and Chris Hemworth than Kristen Stewart, having been overwhelmed by, though I tried to ignore, the media press reports about her, Robert and the director of this film.
Kristen might not have been my choice for Snow White but she is quite good, the one handicap she has is her eyes and her lips and mouth in certain scenes, they are distracting because they appear as if she is not in character or in the mood of the scene but maybe I am being overly fussy?
Snow White loses her father at an early age, after her mother has died, and the stepmother takes over her life (having killed her husband, Snow White's father). The kingdom and the surrounding lands are plunged into darkness. It falls to a drunken, widower who is a huntsman to rescue Snow White when she manages to escape her jail and head into a dead forest/swamp land. The huntsman is to be paid to retrieve her for the king but he changes his mind eventually and tries to protect the princess.
She and he manage to get to her people and then overthrow the Queen and her servants and army. 6/10.
