Review of Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) by Michael L — 29 Jun 2013
SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN has some truly magical moments and clever ideas reinterpreting the Grimm Brothers' tale. Unfortunately, SNOW WHITE falls victim to the current Hollywood trend of having neophyte directors make overproduced films that pummel the audience with effects while stripping their stories of character development.
Ultimately, SNOW WHITE is devoid of any grace or substance. It all just becomes a big flat bore. Terrific cinematography though and perhaps the best CGI ever. The pitch perfect cast is totally wasted.
