Review of Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) by David S — 24 Jul 2015
Snow White and the Huntsman is another poor gritty re-imagining of a classic fairy tale. Discarding the values and traits of the classic, and replacing it with sub-par actors such as Stewart to helm the movie does it no favors.
It is a sad affair when the villain out-shines the heroin in every way possible. Theron and Hemsworth hold their own, but the dilapidated story could not piece together the movie's aspects to create something worth watching.
The special effects are impressive and pretty, but hold little value when there's no strong story to make proper use of them. If this is what Rupert Sanders has to offer as his style, then he does not hold much stake in the work of art.
