This is only going to work for ya if you have NOT read the book, folks. Call it SFATSF Lite...the actress playing the leads are far better served when they are in the past, sticking to Chinese. The present time sequences are somewhat embarrassing.

And although Portman's score is appropriate, the depth of the principle relationship of Lily & Snow Flower is just not established, and so the soundtrack is weirdly prominent & out of scale.

(BTW, Hugh Jackman is so skinny! Sings good, tho. What is he doing in this movie?).
