Review of Snow Falling on Cedars (1999) by John D — 15 Sep 2009
The cinematography for this film was amazing. It captured the mood of the town quite well with its dark and morose backgrounds and snow falls. Ethan Hawke was not too bad either but Max von Sydow stole every scene he was in.
Richard Jenkins is very underrated and this film was one of the first ones that I have seen him in and he was good as the sheriff. James Cromwell's character could have had a bigger role but still solid acting all around.
Excellent film and very underrated. Also, read the novel too.
