Review of Snow Cake (2006) by 6 6 6 — 31 Jan 2008
This was not bad. It was a little slow moving, but there was enough in each scene to keep me in it. The plot was interesting enough, Carrie-Ann Moss was attractive and soft spoken enough, and Alan Rickman (one of the very best character actors around) was.
..well, English enough. Sigourney was stuck in one of those roles that is worth it for an Oscar, but otherwise no thanks. She did not tank by any means, but there will be no talk of being snubbed. The cop character was almost cliche for a small town movie, but not overdone.
I wish they would not have named this Snow Cake. It kind of gave away what was going to be in the freezer, which would have been a nice little surprise..
