Review of Snow Cake (2006) by Joshua T — 28 Mar 2009
Sweet little film about a loner who strikes a friendship with an autistic mother after her daughter dies from an auto-accident, and draws the attention of the small town she lives in. Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver are remarkable in their roles, and completely believable.
Although their personalities are difficult to comprehend, the script makes the audience unbelievably empathetic towards them. Along with some clever story-writing, this gem makes for one of the most unexpectedly feel-good films I've ever seen.
