Review of Snow Angels (2007) by Cory T — 20 Sep 2008
What's great about D.G.G.'s latest film is the subtlety. It would be easy to take the film at face value, but I recommend watching it with subtitles. The transitions are pitch perfect. The shots are beautiful. The dialogue, though it seems rudimentary, is begging for interpretations.
Rockwell is great as this Del Toro from 21 Grams type character. Beckinsale shines, and that's the first time I can say that about the girl who was in Underworld.
It's a film that will hit home with Green fans. It's about family, it's about love, it's about people and their ability to change.
And goddamn if it doesn't strike the right chord every step of the way.
