Review of Snow Angels (2007) by Shaun M — 25 Sep 2008
I really liked a lot of things about this downbeat film, particularly Sam Rockwell's performance as a recovering alcoholic who is desperately trying to reconnect with his wife and daughter. The movie successfully tells three interconnected stories, all dealing with relationships in one way or another.
The movie manages to maintain an incredibly realistic tone, making these characters seem like real people dealing with real problems. However, I feel it kind of loses some of that towards the end. Overall, its a real somber, melancholy little movie that is definitely worth seeing if you don't mind feeling kind of blue.
