Who would have thought that Hollywood actress, Kate Beckinsale, could look and act like an ordinary character? Although, it feels like just another pretentious indie drama, the film succeeds by its actors/actresses, most notably, Sam Rockwell.
It seems that David Gordon Green's character study was influenced by the works of Atom Egoyan, but unlike Egoyan's films, Snow Angels paid more attention to shocking the audience than truly teaching them anything about the characters.
