Review of Snow Angels (2007) by Justin A — 18 Jun 2009
A surprisingly simple but very effective drama. David Gordon Green always produces highly engaging films, and this one is no different. It didn't try to be dark, provocative or pretentious like a lot of other independent stories about "ordinary people". It didn't go out of it's way to demonstrate the different types of people; the awkward stages of high school life, or the struggles of a failing marriage. It did everything with such a relaxed ease -- which is the chilling part of the whole entire thing.
If you want a low-key drama full of realism with excellent performances, especially from Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale, add this to the top of your list.
