Review of Snow Angels (2007) by Jeff D — 07 Aug 2009

'Snow Angels' is a good movie. It's well-made, visually appealing, the performances are, actually, pretty amazing (especially in the case of Sam Rockwell), and there's a solid story there. I just didn't really get the point of it. Other than to depress the crap out of everyone who watches it. I understand the story about the high school kids is supposed to be the counterpart to the main story with Beckinsale and Rockwell, but that story seemed unnecessary and bland. In the end, you're only left with the horrible images from the main story arc and you don't really care about the other one or how hopeful its supposed to make you feel.

So yes, technically, 'Snow Angels' is a good movie, but there's nothing really to write home about. Unless you like movies that make you unbelievably sad.
